Vintage Chicken Object 1

Emilia-Romagna. A chicken sculpture made in the 1960s in Faenza, Ravenna province, along the Via Emilia.

Faenza has flourished as a pottery town since the Middle Ages, and is home to Italy's largest International Ceramics Museum. There are also many workshops within the town.

There was a chip, but it was repaired with lacquer by a Japanese craftsman.

Repairs are made by adding natural materials to real lacquer to glue and fill holes, then applying multiple layers of colored lacquer, and finally sprinkling brass powder on top as a decorative finish.
