Furou-gama Toshihide Ooai
Born into the Ooai family, one of the six Bizen ware kiln families, this artist has established a kiln in Imbe, Okayama. At Furou-gama, he encapsulates the exquisite "flavor of fire and flavor of earth," born from the serendipitous interaction of clay and flame, into framed works. While inheriting tradition, he also explores new possibilities for Bizen ware by challenging himself with expressions that blend into contemporary lifestyles and incorporating different materials.

・frame artist/Mayo Yoshida
Born in Okayama Prefecture. After working at a frame workshop in Okayama City, she apprenticed under a frame artisan in Kurashiki City, where she learned foil stamping and carving techniques. In April 2021, she became independent and began creating custom frames. Fascinated by Italian frames from around the 14th century, she traveled to Italy to study carving and classical framing techniques at a frame workshop in Florence. She creates frames as works of art, based on Italian frames from around the 14th to 15th centuries.
