Born in 1946 (Notogawa Town, Shiga Prefecture)
He moved to France in 1966 and stayed in Paris for one year.
In 1967, he moved to Canada via New York, where he began studying pottery under the ceramist Gaetan Bodin. During this time, he returned to Japan twice to study under Tatsuzo Shimaoka in Mashiko.
In 1975, he worked as a designer for the Canadian ceramics company SIAL.
In 1978, the company was established in Saint-Gabriel, Quebec.
In 1981, he returned to Japan and built a kiln in Matsuzaki-cho, Izu. In 1991, he built a kiln in Futo, Ito City. In 1992, he exhibited his first white porcelain works in Tokyo. Since then, he has only produced white porcelain. He passed away on April 13, 2021 (aged 75).
