Shuji Nakagawa of Nakagawa Mokkougei Hira Kobo is a rare artist who preserves traditional wooden bucket techniques while constantly exploring new possibilities. He is a traditional craftsman and also an artist who studied art, specializing in three-dimensional sculpture at Kyoto Seika University. His updated wooden buckets, now "beautiful tools," transcend the realm of traditional crafts filled with everyday wisdom, becoming usable art that enriches daily life.
