Shuji Nakagawa of "Nakagawa Mokkougei Hira Kobo" is a unique artist who, while preserving traditional wooden桶 (oke) craftsmanship, constantly explores new possibilities. He is a traditional craft artisan and also an artist who studied art, specializing in three-dimensional sculpture at Kyoto Seika University. His updated wooden桶, transformed into "beautiful tools," transcend the boundaries of traditional crafts filled with life's wisdom, becoming usable art that enriches daily life.
