Riccardo Monte studied at the Polytechnic University of Milan and worked in London before deciding to return to his hometown of Ornavasso and set up a workshop in the Alps.
Ricardo works with wood very simply, with few tools and respect for the material: he starts with a solid piece of wood, removes the excess with a chainsaw and finishes the surface.
Through the sculptural act of cleaning up the excess,
He acquires furniture and decorative objects that have a strong material dimension and landscape presence.
Finally, Riccardo carbonizes the surface to highlight the shape, veins and character of the piece.
