Kei Condo 《Rectangular Plate WH》
Born in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture in 1981, Kei Condo studied pottery at the Ibaraki Ceramic Art Instruction Center.
After graduating, he participated in a JICA overseas dispatch program, teaching pottery in Bolivia, South America.
Upon returning to Japan, he opened his own atelier and became independent at the age of 28.
Mr. Kei Condo's works have been featured at places such as the pop-up restaurant "noma kyoto" held at "Ace Hotel Kyoto", and he receives orders from top chefs and restaurants worldwide. He once recounted being admonished by a gallery when he brought in his work, telling him "yellow pottery is difficult." Yet, his pieces are highly sought after for how they make food look delicious.
