The earth has quietly held these memories within itself. Eventually, the flame of the potter stirs its deep slumber, and guided by its own memories, the earth begins to depict its unique expressions.

・mono_ piece Potter

Takushi Takahara

A ceramic artist based in Bizen, Okayama. He studied ceramics in Kyoto and apprenticed under his father, a Bizen ware artist. He has been selected for the Chanoyu Sculptural Exhibition 12 times (receiving the Encouragement Award 3 times). He has held numerous solo exhibitions in Aoyama and Shibuya, Tokyo, and is known for his style that elevates the serendipitous nature of fire and earth into serene forms.

 

 

・frame artist/Mayo Yoshida

Born in Okayama Prefecture. After working at a picture frame workshop in Okayama City, she apprenticed under a frame artisan in Kurashiki City, learning gilding and carving techniques. She became independent in April 2021 and began creating custom frames. Fascinated by 14th-century Italian frames, she traveled to Italy and studied carving and traditional frame techniques at a frame workshop in Florence. She now creates frames as artworks based on Italian frames from the 14th to 15th centuries.

Mainly engaged in product development design that pursues beauty and charm by leveraging the essence of people and materials through collaborations with traditional crafts and domestic and international artisans/artists. He works closely with creators through creative processes to collectively consider "creation," "communication," and "sales."

A company based in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, that creates new value by recycling ceramic waste. They operate the recycled pottery brand RI-CO, with the theme of "thinking about kindness from a cup of coffee."
